Description
|
Echinacea (scientific name: Echinacea purpurea (Linn.) Moench) is a perennial herb of the genus Echinacea in the composite family. 50-150 cm tall, the whole plant has coarse hair, the stem is erect; Leaf margin serrate. Basal leaf sockets or triangular, cauline leaf sockets lanceolate, petiole base slightly holding the stem. Inflorescences capitate, solitary or mostly clustered at the apex, large flowers up to 10 cm in diameter: convex, globose at the center with tubules of orange; Seeds light brown, rind hard. Flowering in summer and autumn.
